The Battle of Camlann
The last battle of Arthur's reign, where he and Mordred struck each other down and the Round Table ended.
Camlann is the final battle of Arthur's reign. While Arthur was abroad at war with Lancelot, his son Mordred, whom he had left as regent, seized the throne and tried to take Guinevere as his wife. Arthur returned, and the two armies met near the sea.
A truce was nearly made. The two sides agreed to meet, each warning their men to attack if any sword was drawn. During the parley an adder bit a knight on the heel, and he drew his sword to kill it. Seeing the blade, both armies charged.
By evening almost all were dead. Arthur ran Mordred through with a spear, and Mordred, with his last strength, drew himself up the shaft and struck his father a mortal wound on the head.
Only a handful of knights survived. The fellowship of the Round Table ended that day.
