Yog-Sothoth

Yog-Sothoth is an outer entity that exists outside ordinary space and time. The Necronomicon calls it the gate and the key: it knows where the Old Ones broke through before and where they will break through again, and every door between the spheres is part of it.

It does not appear in any single shape. Witnesses describe a congeries of iridescent globes, or an overwhelming presence rather than a body.

Sorcerers who seek it want passage: to reach the Old Ones, to open a way for them, or to be carried beyond the limits of the world. Those who call on it in the hill country of Dunwich have left behind stories that the valley still refuses to tell outsiders.
