R'lyeh
The drowned city of the Great Old Ones, whose geometry is wrong and whose door holds Cthulhu.
R'lyeh is a city of enormous green-black stone blocks, built by beings from the stars and sunk beneath the South Pacific ages ago. Its architecture follows a geometry that does not belong to our world. Angles that look acute behave as if they were obtuse, and surfaces that should be flat seem to curve away from the eye.
Once, after an earthquake, part of the city rose above the waves. Sailors who landed there described a vast carved door, a smell of ancient rot, and a thing that came through the door. Few returned, and none returned whole.
It sank again. Its coordinates, roughly 47 degrees south and 126 degrees west, are known to the cult and to a small number of investigators who wish they did not know them.
